The Problem
42% of American adults have no life insurance. 50% of those who do are underinsured. The national coverage gap is estimated at $12 trillion. Most online calculators use the simplistic "10x income" rule, which ignores debts, mortgage obligations, education costs, existing coverage, and the time value of money. A 35-year-old with two kids and a $400,000 mortgage needs a fundamentally different analysis than a childless 28-year-old renter -- but most tools treat them identically.
Our Approach
We combine three established actuarial methodologies -- DIME (Debt, Income, Mortgage, Education), Human Life Value (present value of future earnings), and Gap Analysis (needs minus existing coverage) -- with Monte Carlo survival simulation using SOA mortality tables. The result is a comprehensive coverage recommendation with probability distributions, carrier comparison scoring, underwriting risk prediction, and optimal term length analysis.
